Custom Doors
Your container’s intended use was for shipping and comes standard with cargo doors on one end. The cargo doors are very functional. However, adding an additional entry point can make accessing your items much easier. We offer a wide variety of options and sizes.
Our standard roll-up doors come in a variety of various sizes ranging from 4 feet wide to 8 feet wide. They are typically 7 feet high depending on whether the roll door is installed in a standard or high cube container. They are 26 gauge steel doors that are equipped with a sliding locking clasp. They are available in several colors as well.
Windows & Skylights
Windows and skylights are an inexpensive option to bring natural light into your container. They are available in various sizes. Security bars can be added to the window for additional security.
This is our most popular window. It’s a 2 foot x 3 foot double pane window with a screen. This
is a functioning window as well. The security bars are optional.

Skylights are a great option to let the natural light in and increase visibility inside your storage container
Climate Control
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning options are available for your container as well. Depending on the size of the area you wish to climate control and the temperature requirement, we have many options available for you to choose from.
Interior
Standard containers are not insulated or finished on the interior. The interior climate of your container can be drastically improved by adding insulation. Most of our customers choose to go with fiberglass insulation. It is the same type of insulation you find in many homes. At a thickness of 3 ½”, it provides an R-13 insulation value.
IES offers a full range of interior options to fit you requirements. They include, but are not limited to, the following:
Installing ½” plywood over 2” x 3” wood studs and R-13 insulation. This is the most common interior finish for climate controlled storage or office containers and can be painted for an additional charge.
We also offer FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Panel) durability, easy maintenance and sanitation are required. These are installed over standard studs and insulation and provide a durable, shatter resistant surface that:
- Resists scratches.
- 100% moisture resistant.
- USDA and Agriculture Canada certified.
- Thermal shock and chemical resistant.
- Cleans easily with steam, high pressure sprayers or soap/water.
- Extensive color options on textured or smooth surface improves design flexibility.
- Class A or Class C fire-rating available.
- Color-matched moldings and fasteners.
- High impact strength.
- Low maintenance.
If fire codes prohibit the use of wood we can also finish the interior using metal studs and aluminum or steel sheathing.
FLOORING
The containers are normally fitted with insect resistant plywood flooring. These floors can be left as is, painted or finished with commercial vinyl flooring materials.

Locking Mechanisms
We understand that your container and the contents inside can be very valuable. Standard containers come equipped with locking clasps, 2 on each door, leaving your lock exposed. We offer locking mechanisms that can provide additional security to help keep your items secure.
Shelving
We have shelving systems available for your container. We are able to configure the shelving to meet your storage requirements. The shelves hang from the interior “D” rings of the container. In most cases there are no interior or exterior modifications required to hang the shelves. If you decide you no longer need the shelving it can easily be removed. Container shelving is a great way to organize your container.
- Uses interior D rings meaning no interior or exterior modification to the container is needed
- Adjustable – You can place either down the entire side of the container or in smaller sections
- Removable – If you decide you no longer need the shelving, you can easily remove it
Container Painting
Applying paint is an excellent way to improve the aesthetics of your container. Adding a fresh coat of paint also helps protect the surface from the constant exposure to the elements. We use marine grade industrial enamel. It is a coating that is made to be applied on exterior steel surfaces. A wide variety of colors are available for you to choose from.
